Life path

Isaac Asimov (his real name is Isaac Ozimov) was born on January 2, 1920 in the town of Petrovichi near Smolensk. In 1923, the family moved to America. Since childhood, the boy helped his father in the candy store and voraciously read magazines and books. At age 18, he wrote his first stories, which were not published. But a year later, in 1939, the story “Lost at Vesta” was published. Soon, Asimov’s first collection of stories, “I am a Robot,” was published, which brought him wide fame.

For a long time, Asimov combined writing with teaching – he taught at Boston Medical University. This was not in vain: the breadth of his interests is amazing. Isaac Asimov writes books on biochemistry, philosophy, astronomy, zoology, and nuclear physics. But he became famous all over the world thanks to his fantastic literature, which is loved and appreciated by many readers. Among his best works are novels:

“Cosmic Currents”,

“Steel Caves”,

“The Gods Themselves”.

In the 1970s, Isaac Asimov focused entirely on literary activity, and by the end of his life he could call himself the author of 467 books. He worked from morning to night, leaving the house very rarely, and only after his wife’s urgent requests. In the end, such intense activity affects his health, in 1977 he suffered a stroke, and in 1983 – a heart attack. He took these blows of fate as a challenge: he went on a diet, started working out on a simulator, and lived after that for almost another 10 years. Isaac Asimov died on April 6, 1992 at the age of 72.
